Bowl from a Magnolia branch crotch turned green to a 4mm thickness and left to slightly distort while drying. Danish oil finish.

Large Kauri bowl.  This bowl was turned from a slab recovered 25 years ago from a remnant stump.  Finish:  Danish Oil.  Dimensions:  240mm wide x 100mm high.

This bowl is turned from a plank of heart rimu rescued from a firewood pile. The plank was originally salvaged from a sawmill's off-cut stack over fifty years ago. Dimensions: 208mm x 90mm. Finish: U-Beaut Traditional Wax

Liquid Amber trees on council land causing damage were removed and some of this wood was donated to me. Once dried, it was turned to this light weight finished form.   Finish:  Walnut Oil. Dimensions:  245mm wide x 105mm deep

 "Milky Way" Cypress old growth Burled bowl, turned nice and thin with 4mm walls with recessed inverted rim, very light in weight as if it was floating in space. Danish oiled then Carnauba hard wax buffed, 270mm diam x 80mmH

A flared top bowl in Black Maire turned to display the interesting colours & grain.  Finish:  Danish Oil.  Dimensions:  190mm wide x 85mm high.

This small bowl was turned from wood donated to the local guild by a retired woodturner. It feature both heartwood and sapwood and a small bark inclusion. Finish is Microtone sanding sealer. Dimensions(mm) H(75) x W(130) x D(65)

European olive (Olea europaea), pure Danish oil (tung oil & citrus thinners).  200 mm diameter, 75 mm high, 5 mm wall thickness at rim.

Made from Spalted Beech,  this piece has beautiful grain which speaks for itself,  finished with sanding sealer and beall buffed.  240 mm x 65 mm

Ancient Kauri Bowl sourced from the peat swamps of Takanini.  The form that has been made is a tribute to the great majestic Kauri.  1200 years in the swamp, how many growing is anyone's guess.  255 dia x 160mm high.

Spalted Sycamore with an interesting back-story movie history. Plain, unassuming undercut bowl letting the wood speak for itself. Spalted Sycamore, Mirotone 3241, Carnauba wax. 235mm x 55mm.

Pacific Kauri finished with EEE Ultra Shine. W232mm H30mm

A 165mm-wide, 95mm-tall bowl turned from pōhutukawa and finished with Triple E and wax. The simple, flowing form and understated profile allow the warmth and subtle grain of the timber to take centre stage.

Pohutukawa crotch section bowl which rises from the base in an unusual S shape curve.  Approx. 20cm wide/ 9cm tall.  Treated with clear wax only to enhance the grain patterns.

This bowl is made of Puriri wood (Vitex lucens). It has a 220mm diameter and a height of 90mm. It is finished with Danish oil.

Plain bowl turned from purpleheart. (Peltogyne spp.). Size: 175mm x 95mm. Oil finish

Recycled kauri. It seemed a waste to turn too much of the wood away, so I left a wide rim.  Finished with Danish Oil (6+ coats).  190mm diameter, 60mm height.

Swamp kauri from Baleys Dargaville, this piece was very fine grained so designed with smooth angled flow to enhance this. French polish finish.
