Laser-engraved on recycled rimu salvaged from the Christchurch 22 February earthquake, this artwork imagines two taniwha following rowers across Lake Ruataniwha — one watchful and protective, the other darker and unpredictable. 370mm x 240mm x 18mm

An alpaca, fox and capybara archer make up this samurai trio.  They are pyrography figures on shallow, square, winged bowls. The wood is rimu, 210 x 210 x 16mm each, finished in lacquer.

Exploration of Walnut through marquetry, the journey from growth to grain. Walnut alongside Kauri, Rewarewa, Rippled Beech, and American White Oak veneers, the piece celebrates rich colours, varied textures, and the natural character of wood.  525mm x 237mm x 6mm

Made from tōtara extracted from local river, stump wood with “wild” grain! Texture with mini carver, spray silver paint deer bud turned and added.  700mm diameter by 40mm thick.

A set of birds - heron, kingfisher and a fantail. Pyrography on birch play. Size: 150mm x 200mm each.

Laser-engraved on recycled rimu salvaged from the 22 February Christchurch earthquake, a poised tūī is framed by kōwhai and flowing koru-inspired detail. Approximately 230 mm wide.

Turtles styled on aboriginal art forms done in pyro and paint.  These are small square plates 165x165x10mm.  The top is slightly dished and the decorative bottom sits on four corner feet.  The wood is oak and the finish is lacquer.

"Venus" (1375mm x 700mm x 60mm). Hand-carved swamp kauri, burnished with shoe polish and a shellac finish. Emerging from burial after an ancient eruption, the timber becomes a sacred and scarred woman, embodying beauty, decay, death, rebirth and creative power.

This piece was hand carved with mallet and chisels on a 40mm thick slab of totara, the only area sanded is around carving with the other areas showing natural chisel marks. It is finished with rimu briwax. 900mm wide, 290 high, 40 thick.
