Wood from Opotiki Beach, designed for dried flower arrangements. Designed to maximize the effects of the spalting. Finished with French polish.  H=225mm  W=145mm

A piece of Oregon beam recovered from a building that was constructed in 1946.  Finish is sprayed lacquer.  105 diameter and 120mm high. 

Inspired by David Ellsworth, we met him and his wife when they visited New Zealand, at Turangi. Such an inspiring  couple both turning and life philosophy. Ebony and pohutukawa. 30mm high 40mm wide, using allan key made as a scraper.

Hollow form turned to a 5mm wall thickness by splitting the blank and reassembling it. Rescued firewood with a Danish oil finish. Size: 125mm high, 120mm diameter.

Crafted from Tasmanian Blackwood, this hollow-form vase has a refined, chalice-like silhouette. It is finished with Shellawax Glow friction polish and buffed with wax to a smooth sheen. 21cm High x 16cm Wide.

Ebony, inside Rewarewa, inside Pepperwood. Three woods turned to fit inside each other. Each inside wood turned after the outer wood turned. Ebony fitted prior to the Rewarewa being fitted inside Pepper wood. 180mm wide 160mm high. Lacquer finish.

This vase was made from Rimu, Walnut & Resin and I must admit a bit of a challenge for me, but I did enjoy creating it. The size is Height 150mm x Width 135mm

Turned from Titoki that was blown over onto our driveway. The central vase is coloured with black graphite. The finish is three coats of polished Briwax Clear, to provide a seal that resists moisture but allows the form to breathe. Size 260x100x100mm

A Yew hollow pot with gold, blue and white pearl Bubble wrapped for texture, 6 coats of 50% thinned sprayed lacquer. Buffed on the Beall System.

Crossgrain Jarrah natural edge hollow form. Inside is birdseye burl and Ebony finial. Above the birdseye the inside has been textured. Jarrah 198mm high x 100mm wide. Finial 100 mm high. Total height - 260mm. Spray lacquer - finish.

Growth rings gather like a clearing sky above dark, wandering lines of spalting.  This Lawson Cypress vessel holds the stillness that follows a storm, when light returns to the landscape. 112mm height x 90mm wide.
