Hat stand. The base is Pohutukawa, spindle is Rata, with Kauri and Purple heart for shoulder pads. Hat is local Blackwood heart.  Finish Briwax. Height 350mm width 140mm

Embellished Kauri Tea Light. Turned and embelished with pyrography and acrylic pearlescent paints in complimentary colours. 10cm x 5cm.

Unknown timber with minimal grain and yellow heartwood, turned into a disc shape and carved. Coloured with copper paint and reactant, and finished with Resene stucco wax. Decorated with found driftwood. 16cm diameter, 6cm high

New life has emerged...turned and carved pod from macrocarpa, then embellished with pyrography and metallic acrylic paints. Finished using the Beall buff system. Dimensions 160 x 45mm.

A spalted walnut bud vase which is turned on a multi axis to produce an emerging vase feature from  the single block. 195mm high x 97mm wide x 130 deep.

Pohutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa) 230mm x 45mm turned and hollowed. Carved to three levels either side of eye socket and across the base. Further heavily carved, texture and coloured to create a prehistoric skin surrounding the socket and fiery eye.     

An exploration into the natural contrasts of colour and grain in our native timbers.  These are a combination of Totara, Rewarewa, Kauri, Puriri and Kahikatea.  Finish is mineral oil and a homemade wax blend.  Length 62mm,  Width 22mm,  Thickness 3mm.

Flowers turned from Feijoa, coloured with water based dyes.  Flower stalks - material covered wire.  Vase turned NZ Pohutukawa burl.  Finish - spray lacquer.  Rough over all height - 260mm, vase width - 120mm wide x 130mm high.

A friend of mine gave me the scraps of timber left over from her attic conversion. I combined some acrylic I had and turned them on my wood lathe. The result was a memento from her build to display in her new loft conversion. 500mm height, 145mm width and depth at base.

Camphor mushroom and base. 24cm tall and 10cm diameter 

A fissured and weathered totara post ebonised by burning and polishing.  Beeswax discs added with LED lights. One side of the post has been cut to expose the beautiful grain of the Totara. Height 530mm x 300 x 150mm deep.

Tasmainian BlackWood Sphere. Danish oil finish. 100mm diameter.  Sits on a three fingered stand wood species unknown.

Halloween-themed bowl. Pohutukawa. 190 mm diameter, 60 mm high. Pyrography, acrylic colouring, Danish oil.

Hand-carved using chisel and millet with solid walnut and finished with hard wax oil,This hairpin features the Chinese traditional Ruyi (如意）motif. Symbolizing "as you wish". Dimention: 24cm L x 3cm W x 0.8cm D. 

London plane heart ring was turned in the style of Reifendrehen, a traditional German technique. A carved heart was created from a section of the ring. The ring is 30cm wide x 7cm tall and the heart is 7.5cm wide x 7cm tall.

This ship is made out of pine and painted to match the in-game look from the videogame Helldivers 2 with a stand that has been stained. L 53cm, W 22cm, H 24cm.

Eucalypt timber, turned into a hollow cylinder, and carved. Finished with Osmo Polyx oil. Decorated with found rope. 13 x 12cm 

Green oak, turned into a bowl shape, then carved. Finished with Osmo Polyx Oil. 12 x 10cm
