Dish turned from a branch crotch to a heart shape with a 3mm thickness. Rescued firewood with a bee's wax finish. Size: 40mm high, 190mm at the longest.

Natural edge dish turned with a 4mm thickness from rescued firewood with a bee's wax finish. Size: 45mm high, 240mm at the longest.

Natural edge bowl with a small base turned to a 4mm thickness. Made of Macrocarpa with a Danish oil finish. Size: 190mm high, 200mm diameter.

Round bottom, natural edge bowl turned from liquid amber, embracing the beautiful imperfections caused by natural decay. The natural flaws add character and tell part of the wood’s story. 100mm diameter, finished with danish oil.

Evoking visions of strange worlds in a distant cosmos, the three moons of "Maleopia" orbit a swirling gas giant planet surrounded by a random vaporous galaxy.  Malee Burr, Paua shell, Mirotone Danish oil, carnauba wax. 285mm x 200mm x 46mm.

Wanted to show case the natural beauty and do as little damage as possible to the outside while turning.  Width 190mm Height 90mm.

Made from Rewarewa.  Satin finish lacquer.  210mm x 180mm x 75mm high.

Four Oak bowls cored from the same log. Finished with Haarlem Danish Oil. Bowls range in size from 150 x 50mm to 400 x 110mm.

Pohutukawa turned on the lathe using several different axes to make sure the natural edge was properly balanced as best as possible on all sides.  Finished with sanding sealer, 1000 grit and a 3m pad. Diameter is 260mm, height 90mm.

A simple yet classical natural edged vase style open form. The wood is Northland Kauri root ball. Harvested by a long-standing friend of the craft - Ron Wallace. The vase stands 165 tall and is 75 wide at its widest part

Made from fresh oak, turned to 3mm thickness,  End grain turned and encouraged to move to create a piece balancing on a single point,  finished with sanding sealer and Beall Buffed. 300mm x 250mm x 75mm

Turned into a rounded form, this olive vessel refuses perfect symmetry.  Its natural edge and sweeping void preserve the tree's untamed character, revealing beauty where the timber chose to open. 110mm height x 115mm wide.

Red Beech burl natural edge, 6mm wall thickness. 6 coats of 50% thinned lacquer polished with Beall System. 120mm H x 170mm Dia

Beautiful Olive Wood turned thinly leaving the natural edge and voids characteristic of the wood. Small feet are carved on the base to give the bowl lift.
