Small lidded box made from YEW wood and finished with Danish oil. Height; 60 mm, diameter; 85 mm, depth; 35mm.

Smoked Oak offcut was used to make this small jewellery box. Finished with Osmo Oil then buffed with buffing system. Cross Grain, base 60mm diameter, height 60mm.

Warm Rimu glows like banked embers beneath an Ebonised Purpleheart flame. The poised vessel balances softness and strength, allowing Aotearoa's timber to carry a quiet fire of its own. 175mm height x 115mm wide.

Lidded box turned from Matai. 110mm diameter, 95mm high

Was an old bedhead repurposed the shape just evolved as I went on. Swamp kauri.  Size: 180 diameter x 90mm high.

Chestnut box, with tapered purple heart pin and kauri finial to provide colour and a technical feature.  Wide 150mm high 150mm with finial.

Splatted London Plain box. Finial and pedestal of Rimu ebonized with acrylic paint. Finished with clear satin lacquer. Height 290mm x width 80mm. 

A turned bird, carved and embellished. Inside the box carried on its back is a nest with 2 eggs. Airbrushed with colours that when viewed from a different angle change colours as does a Tui in flight.  150x 150 x150

Pohutukawa wood meticulously carved to 10th scale to showcase our native Christmas tree. A double Koru to the turned lid with the surprize within of a boars tusk - also carved - a chief's lost treasure.  160 x 80 x60.

Held between Queen Ebony points, the rounded Lawson cypress body appears to float. It's wandering lines resemble continents, celebrating a world shaped by movement, balance and the turner's hand. 180mm height x 90mm wide.

Wood: Plum and sycamore box with purple heart lid. Finish: Danish oil used on plum and purple heart, polyurethane on sycamore. Size: 100 high and 80 diameter.

Toothpick dispenser turned from American black cherry. Finial from Purple Heart. Interior structure (Trays etc) Silver Beech and Kwila. Finished with dewaxed shellac and polished to 2000 grit. Width at widest point 60mm, height: 110mm.

Lidded bowl with a wood-carved tusk finial. Made from Oak and Puriri, with a Lemon wood tusk. 180mm x 160mm

Spalting draws coastlines across the rounded vessel, as though a forgotten world were held within the Timber. A Black-Ebony finial rises like a compass needle, pointing towards the unknown. 150mm height x 110mm wide.

Box elder “box”, lattice work carved out to a basic honeycomb pattern, walnut lid with a “flower” brought back from recent island trip.  Sparkle added to pink acrylic paint.  Box 90mm x 60mm high 100mm  high overall.

Crafted from native Puriri, Tōtara, and Rimu, this Whigmaleerie Box challenges puzzle lovers. You must assemble the 21-part Purple Heart ball entirely inside the vessel, because the finished puzzle cannot fit through the box opening. 220 high, 140 wide.

Drooping sheoak (Allocasuarina verticillata) grown in Canterbury. Treated with Haarlem Danish oil and finished with spray lacquer. 180 long, 90 wide and 120 high.
